Privacy Policy

How PROJEX collects, uses, and protects your information on projex.co, in our client portal, and in the text messages we send about your projects.

The short version

  • We collect what you give us (like your name, email, and project details) plus basic statistics about how the site is used.
  • We use it to answer you, schedule meetings, do the work, and keep you updated.
  • We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
  • If you sign up for text updates, your mobile number and texting consent are never shared with third parties or used for marketing. We only text you about your projects and support requests.

This Privacy Policy covers projex.co (the “Site”), the PROJEX client portal (the “Portal”), and the project and support text messages we send. The Site and Portal are owned and operated by PROJEX, 2040 W Main St, Ste 304, Rapid City, SD 57702. You can reach us at reach@projex.co or 605.939.0709. This policy works together with our Terms & Conditions.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us, book a meeting, request an estimate, sign an agreement, or use the Portal, you may give us:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and company;
  • Your mobile number, if you choose to get text updates;
  • Messages, project details, support requests, and replies you send us; and
  • Files you upload, such as images, documents, or logins you ask us to use for your project.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our analytics provider may automatically collect your IP address, approximate location, browser and device details, the pages you view, the links you click, and the site that referred you.

Information we handle while doing your project

When we build, connect, or manage systems for you, we may need to work with data stored in them. We handle that data only to do the work you’ve asked for, under our agreement with you.

How we use your information

  • To answer questions, schedule meetings, and prepare estimates;
  • To deliver, support, and bill for the work you’ve hired us to do;
  • To send you updates about your requests and projects by email and, if you opt in, by text message;
  • To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it (statistics only); and
  • To keep the Site and Portal secure and meet our legal obligations.

We only use your information for the purposes in this policy. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Text messages (SMS)

You can choose to get text messages from PROJEX about your projects and support requests. You opt in by checking “Text me updates on this request” in the Portal, checking “Text me about this request” on a request form, or agreeing to the texting consent line in a PROJEX estimate or agreement.

If you opt in, we use your mobile number only to send project and support messages: updates and replies about your requests, and a weekly update on your project. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
  • Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every type of sharing described in this policy. This information will not be shared with any third parties.
  • Our text-messaging provider (Twilio) processes your number only to deliver our messages to you. It may not use it for any other purpose.
  • Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts doesn’t affect email updates.

Who we share information with

We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only in these cases:

  • Our team. PROJEX team members who need it to do their job.
  • Service providers. Companies that run parts of our business for us: website hosting, email (Microsoft 365), meeting scheduling (Koalendar), site analytics (Google Analytics), text-message delivery (Twilio), and Portal hosting. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal reasons. If the law or a legal proceeding requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.
  • A business transfer. If PROJEX is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.

None of these cases include your mobile number or texting consent being shared for marketing. See “Text messages (SMS)” above.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use:

  • Functional cookies that help the Site and Portal work, such as keeping you signed in; and
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which tell us which pages are visited and how people find us. You can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We don’t use advertising or targeting cookies. Some pages include content from other companies, like the Google map on our Contact page and the Koalendar scheduler, and they may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as well.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or as long as the law or our accounting records require. Project and Portal records are kept for as long as we work together and for a reasonable time after. If you opt out of texts, we keep a record of that so we can honor your choice.

How we protect your information

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit access to the people who need it, and rely on established providers with strong security practices. No system on the internet is perfectly secure, so while we take reasonable precautions, we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Site and Portal aren’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn we have, we’ll delete it as soon as possible. A parent or guardian who believes their child has given us information can contact us using the details below.

Your choices and rights

  • See, correct, or delete your information. Ask us what we have, how we’ve used it, and who we’ve shared it with, or ask us to update or delete it.
  • Stop texts. Reply STOP to any text, uncheck text updates in the Portal, or contact us.
  • Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any non-project email, or contact us.

We’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under your state’s law, and we’ll honor them.

The Site links to other websites, including sites we’ve built for clients. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and we’ll let current clients know about any significant changes.
